Formation

Deschutes Municipal Light was formed in 1949 during a general election because of the demand for power.

  • Loan funds were received from the USDA Rural Electrification Administration

  • Bylaws and an official seal were adopted

We help to achieve the long-term goals of the community. We are the 2nd largest municipal utility in Washington.
